Middle School Assistant Track Coach- Coed
Supplemental Contract- 2024-2025 School Year
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Works with the Head Coach to teach and train players on fundamental track skills such as proper running form, hurdling, throwing, jumping, vaulting, etc.
- Schedules and attends practices.
- Makes sure each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate in practices and games.
- Work cooperatively with other head athletic coaches in order to operate a well-balanced athletic program.
- Collaborate with the Head Coach in preparation of schedules for the team.
- Engage with the parents of the members of the track team in a positive and constructive manner.
- Understands the signs and symptoms of injuries such as a concussion and removes players that are exhibiting signs and symptoms of injury.
- Encourages student athletes to set and maintain high standards of behavior on the field and off.
- Attends and participates in scheduled staff and team meetings.
- Supervise and collaborate with any potential volunteers and maintain their background clearnances.
- The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstration of current knowledge of strength and conditioning programs for track.
- Assist with the organization and development of the middle school track program.
- Must be team-oriented, hands-on, and passionate about sports.
- Prior coaching experience desired.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Completion of the following three clearances: PA State Police Background Check, PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Fingerprinting Background Check.
- Completion of PIAA safety and compliance trainings.

- The individual must follow all District policies and procedures.

- The individual must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, apply feedback to improve performance and monitor his or her own work to ensure quality. Individual should always be willing to generate suggestions to improve individual and departmental performance.
- The individual must be punctual at all times and ensure that work responsibilities are covered in his/her absence. Must complete tasks correctly and on time.
Safety Regulations:
- Must report all student concerns, injuries, and incidents to the Athletic Department immediately. Anyone who knows of any action, inaction, or misconduct are required to file a report with the Athletic Department and shall report such misconduct to his or her school administrator.

Working Conditions:
- The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires the incumbent to work both indoors and outdoors in all types of lighting and weather conditions, including but not limited to: heat, sun, rain, snow and ice.
Compensation:
- 22 units for the completion of the whole season. 1 Unit= $96.00. This position is evaluated on a yearly basis. Evaluations are based on the development of players and the team's overall skillset.
