Position Summary: The High School Spanish Teacher will have primary responsibility for planning and deivering developmentally appropriate lessons that meet Pennsylvania state-mandated foriegn language standards.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment and instructional strategies.
• Promotes the use of multiple methods in solving problems, identifying more efficient strategies and generalizing principles to a broad variety of applications.
• Encourages collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning and to consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
• Demonstrated professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
• Effectively interacts with a diverse population of students and faculty.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and strongly encourages applications from candidates who reflect such diversity.
• All prospective employees must be able to clear a background check, LiveScan fingerprinting and TB screening.  

Education Requirements:

• Must be Certified in Spanish
• Experience teaching in classroom settings preferrably at the secondary level
• Advanced degree preferred but not required

                 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to reach above and below the waist 
• Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
• Ability to use both hands for repetitive motion
• Considerable bending and twisting of the body required
• Some stooping and squatting required
• Ability to lift and/or carry supplies and/or papers weighing no more than 25 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time of the workday

• Auditory acuity
