DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

 

Assignment:  District wide

                       Full-time, 7 hours/day, 12 month/261 day position

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide support in PC/Laptop installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Assist with Tier 1 basic support of wireless and wired networks.
  • Provide assistance in classrooms to operate equipment and implement activities.
  • Submit technology work orders and make service calls to manufacturers as needed.
  • Maintain building printers by replacing ink cartridges in building printers.
  • Provide assistance to district staff regarding Desktop/Laptop/Tablet issues.
  • Conduct research of web sites and resources for classroom teachers.
  • Troubleshoot basic phone system issues.
  • Diagnose technical issues and perform all Tier 1 troubleshooting techniques before escalating to higher level IT support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Operational Technology and the Technology Specialist Supervisor.

  

Qualifications:  Two (2) years IT experience.  CompTIA certification A+, Net+, or Sec+ preferred.  High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.  Associates degree or greater or equivalent certifications in Information Technology is highly desirable.

 

Salary and benefits will be set in accordance with Southeast Delco Federation of Support Staff Negotiated Agreement.
